Our referral service is there to support you, your practice and your clients. We are happy to accept any cases you have concerns regarding and to see patients for second opinion. Rest assured that all cases are treated carefully and sensitively. Please feel free to contact the referral centres should you require advice.

Woodcroft Referrals and Lanes Referrals provide 24hour staffed hospitalisation and A+E cover. Where cases are admitted via the A+E department, referral treatment is arranged centrally. Patients requiring hospitalisation post-operatively are cared for in 24hr staffed centres.

Urgent Referrals

Immediate/ Emergency – If you consider a case to require very urgent referral please telephone 01625 533654. Ensure you state the urgency and we will try to arrange direct contact with Dr Smithson if immediate advice is required. After hours the A+E departments will be able to provide initial assistance.

Urgent (within 3days) – If completing a referral submission form for web-submission, email or fax, please ensure it is marked ‘urgent’ and the nature of the issue briefly explained. If you have not heard back from us within 24hours please telephone as we may already have tried to contact you.


Routine Referrals

Please complete a referral submission form, either via the websites or by email or fax, along with the recent, salient, clinical history including laboratory results. To assist you, on receipt of your referral instruction and client contact details, we are happy to arrange a referral appointment with owners directly or for your client to contact us to arrange an appointment.

Radiographs and scan images are best emailed or posted prior to the consultation, but may be sent with the owner.
